OK, I Want to Do a Passion Blog; What the heck do I write about?

Light some candles.  Sit in a darkened room. And concentrate … HARD.   If you think that’s how to find your passion blog topic, then, boy, do I have some good news for you: it’s not.  In fact, it’s a lot easier than you think.

Here are five helpful tips to choosing your blog topic from About.com.

The most important tip is to choose something you’re truly passionate about.

“But I’m interested in so many things!” you say.  “How can I possibly choose just ONE topic?”

For now, don’t worry about that one super, special, be-all-end-all topic for your passion blog.  As the first step, all you need to do is to list ten things that you’re passionate about and/or interested in.  And list them quickly—if it takes you too long to think about a topic, then you’re probably not that passionate about it!

Here’s what my list for a passion blog would look like:

  1. Animal rights
  2. Vegetarianism
  3. Women’s Rights
  4. Environmentalism
  5. Writin
  6. American literature
  7. Art
  8. Museums
  9. Theatre
  10. Cats & Turtles

All righty then.  That wasn’t so hard–and it only took me about 30 seconds.  Now do yours.  Go ahead; I’ll wait.

…….. (Take your time)……

See how simple that was?!

You’ve just completed your first step to getting yourself front-and-center in your dream employer’s mind.  Step 2 will help you narrow your passion blog topic further.
